Teenagers Target Cyclists on Guilford

April 12th, 2013 | Categories: People | 3 comments

Yesterday evening, a group of 4-5 teenagers targeted cyclists on the 1500 and 1600 block of Guilford Avenue. Several riders on Facebook reported attempted attacks, but the Carfree Baltimore blog posts an unfortunately situation.  (This coming the same week he was able to ride after a nasty spill)

This ambush style assault should not be taken lightly on Guilford or anywhere else in the city. Call 911 as soon as it is safe to do so. As the weather warms, the chance for these incidents increases. If you experienced this on Guilford yesterday, please call 911 to provide information. The more police are notified of this problem, the more patrols will be increased to problematic areas.

Here’s an idea: we could put together an email group for area cyclists as a way to alert each other when something like this is happening. What’s your thought on that?
