Abandoned Bike near Farmers Market

August 27th, 2012 | Categories: Parking, Unique Bikes | Post Comment

A couple months ago, a blue Peugeot bike was locked to a sign post at the corner of Pleasant Street and the JFX off ramp.   Around the Farmers Market area and along Fallsway, many bikes are locked up to sign posts as there’s limited bike parking at the market and none at Health Care for the Homeless.

As time passed, the bike lost weight. First the front wheel disappeared.  Then the back wheel and brakes, followed by the derailleur. A mid-grade kryptonite lock kept the frame in place, until it finally disappeared over the weekend.
